Happy, almost, New Year, everybody!

We just wanted to send a quick reminder that today is the last day for early bird pricing on the 2013 CSA program.

We've had people sign up for shares as Christmas presents for themselves and others.  We've also had folks use their yearly bonus to make sure they take care of their vegetable needs for the 2013 summer.  Why not start the New Year right by purchasing a share?  Whether it's because of a resolution to eat better, or to spend more in your local economy, or just to try it out, now is the time to sign-up.

Remember eating good veggies isn't a luxury.  We should all be eating more veggies than we do, especially naturally and locally grown seasonally available veggies.  If you work out the numbers, a full share comes out to only $35.50 per week over the 18 weeks.  This is right around the price you'd pay for the same veggies in the late spring and early summer at a grocery store.  During the rest of the season when the tomatoes and peppers and squash (among other things) come in, the same veggies cost nearly double that at a grocery store.  So, not only is buying a share good for you, it's good for you pocketbook.

And, it puts money back into your local economy.

So, remember today is the last day for a discount.  While we'll still have shares available tomorrow and probably for some time to come, now is the time to be thinking about your veggies for the summer.  When April and May get here, we'll already be planting and, based on previous years we'll be sold out of shares.

That's all.  See you soon.  Read more here.  Sign up here.
