Happy September!!

This weather is so very lovely and summery and we still have lots of wonderful summertime things to eat. We were talking about how this time of year can be kind of overwhelming – there are so many things ready to harvest right now, and when you’re trying to preserve everything you can get your hands on, it becomes a little crazy.

So, in other news we had a crazy storm here last Friday. It didn’t seem like much, but the winds were pretty intense and knocked down our dead tree (which is fine, it needed to come down) right onto a portion of our deck railing (which is not as fine since that did not, in fact, need to come down). It also laid flat the other fabric greenhouse that was still standing in the field (some of you may recall the first one was blown into the neighbor’s field this Spring by a different storm).

And hey you all  - sign up for next year’s shares starts…NOW! We’re getting the form up tonight, so get on there and sign up while you’re thinking about it. Tell your friends. Tell your neighbors. Tell strangers on the street – we don’t care! Sign up by Thanksgiving and get this year’s rates.

Other than that, remember our next farm event will be an Autumnal Equinox Harvest Celebration on Saturday September 21st. Word on the street is that we have a great band booked, and as usual will have our potluck dinner and other fun things to do.
