This week at Trogg's Hollow

Happy Fall! I hope this change in seasons finds everyone well.

The first thing I want to address this week is shares. This is week 17 of 18 planned weeks. That means that for some of you half-share holders, specifically Wheaton and some of Elgin, this may be your last week.

We have had our first frost. Holy cow, a frost! Wasn’t it just 90 degrees? It’s been a crazy season, but things are slowing down. Fortunately the frost we did have didn’t outright kill everything, but it did do some damage to some things, especially tomatoes, peppers, tomatillos, summer squash, and beans. We’re still able to harvest most of those, but not in the numbers we’ve been seeing, and over the next little bit their production will slow dramatically, and then stop. That’s what happens in the fall.

One more thing, as a reminder, the Farmers Market season is quickly coming to a close. This will be the last week for Roselle, and the second to last for Elgin and Forest Park. If you’ve been meaning to come out, please do. Get some storage crops, or tomatoes and peppers to enjoy right now! Also, we have 2 extra shares this week. All the good stuff listed for just $40!! Let us know.

More in the newsletter.
