Hello again! I feel like I keep talking about the weather, but man has the weather been weird. Crazy storms and today it’s gone from heavy and muggy to wild and windy and dreary. I’m no meteorologist, but I’m pretty sure this summer has gone completely off the rails. And yet, the food keeps coming! We’ve done alot of fall planting this week, which is exciting. Lots of things going in now in the hopes that we’ll be able to keep harvesting at some level well into winter - until all that snow comes. Then we hunker down and wait until Spring. It seems so far away, but this season has flown by. Speaking of, I want to remind everyone about our upcoming Autumnal Equinox Celebration on Saturday the 20, starting at 4 here at the Poplar Grove Farm. This will be the LAST farm event of the year, so if you've been meaning to come out but just haven’t had the chance, get out here! We’ll have music and a pot luck and plan to do some cider pressing as well. Help us celebrate fall, after a very crazy summer! |
