8/7/13 Newsletter

Hi and Happy August to you all!

I hope everyone is enjoying the warm up! All of the growing things – vegetable and weed alike – sure are.

It’s been another typically busy week around here – we’re nearly, but not quite, half way through our 18 week season. The boxes have started overflowing with wonderful foods – we warned you they would. No matter how many summers we go through, it’s still pretty exciting to see it happen over again.

In addition to our normal work this week, Trogg’s Hollow partnered with Angelic Organics in Caledonia to host a CRAFT field day centered around Dealing with Those Pesky Weeds (I believe that was the official title).

We are also planning our third farm event for this summer. The next one will take place on Saturday, August 24th.  Also, here’s some advanced notice for our September event.  We’ll be having it on September 21 and it will be a celebration of the Autumnal Equinox and Bilbo’s Birthday.

We have 2 extra shares available this week. These include the same things as the regular CSA bins and sell for $40. It is first come, first served on these, so if you want one let us know right away, either by calling, email, or Facebook.

Finally, let’s all hope mother nature gives us a little bit of summer over the next few weeks.  Your peppers and tomatoes would really like a little heat to color up and fully ripen.
