Happy August Friends! I think at this point winter feels pretty far away from us, in both directions. We have tomatoes and peaches and sunny days and wicked rainstorms. It’s kind of hard to believe school will be starting up for many kids soon. This is one of those times when I realize just how lucky I am to be able to have those crazy maniacs home with me all the time. There’s still so much to squeeze out of this summer that sorta just started. By now most all of you who have ordered peaches have picked them up (thank you!) and ohmygoodness aren’t they amazing? As usual, of course. Our trip was quick and painless and Rendleman’s tells us that we can come back again over Labor Day weekend, so we’ll be taking another batch of orders for those of you that missed out, or just haven’t had enough peachy goodness. We do have some to sell at markets, but as we mentioned we will only have them at Huntley and Rockford. THEY ARE SO GOOD. Those shareholders that ordered other fruit shares, raspberries will start THIS WEEK. So those of you that get a share this week (Weekly and Group B), this is your week. Group A starts next week. We will be sending email reminders, but this means if you ordered raspberries we need payments ASAP. Remember, August has arrived and that means our next farm event is only a couple of weeks away!! Trogg’s Hollow Tomato Festival will start at 4PM on Saturday, August 16. Early Bird Farm will be there cooking their amazing pork. Tiffany from Mac’s Marinara will do a canning demo for you, which is great with all the peaches and tomatoes. And that’s it. Keep enjoying summer.. More in the newsletter <---- clicky!! |
