I hope everyone has enjoyed this summer. It’s not over yet – another month till the equinox – but it’s starting to feel like it is. I know many of you have sent kids back to school, or gone back to work.

I want to send a huge thanks to all of you who came our this weekend for our Tomato Tasting Festival – it was a great afternoon of tomato tasting, a canning demo, Trogg making cider, an amazing potluck (seriously, our potlucks are A-MAZING!), and a bonfire.

And remember, our next event will be an Autumnal Equinox Harvest Celebration on Saturday September 21st. You can’t say we didn’t tell you – mark your calendars!

We stayed pretty quiet for the rest of the weekend, but did find some time for a short trip to get a great stainless steel sink for the packing shed. This is a great step in the food safety protocols we set for ourselves and will help us keep the things we’re growing for you clean and safe.

We also got our hands on a great cider press. It’s huge! (for those of you who were here this weekend, it makes the little one we were using look like a toy!).

And Happy 90th Birthday to Grandpa Mitch – yes, he’s the one who helped us with the Spring plowing! He grew up a farmer, fought in WWII, married my incredible Grandmother, has 6 children, 16 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren, among many many other accomplishments, and just keeps going,
