Another week here at Trogg’s Hollow, another week battling weeds, planting seeds, plowing earth, and harvesting gorgeous vegetables. It could be worse! The weird weather this summer is definitely affecting how the food grows and ripens, but overall things are doing well and we have great food, which is what’s important. This week we harvested hundreds of pounds of tomatoes, as well as our first carrots. And we seeded more beans, which will hopefully be ready in early fall. As a reminder, we are going to Alto Pass again this weekend to pick up another peach order, so if you have not pre-ordered and still want to, get us your info! Orders need to be placed by noon this Friday. We will pick up on Monday and have them for you on Tuesday. And remember our upcoming farm event next Saturday, August 24th. This will be our Tomato Tasting Celebration and will include vendors, kids crafts, farm tours, as well as the usual potluck. And finally, a Happy 2nd Birthday to little Monkey number 4 – can’t believe it’s been 2 years! More in the newsletter. |
