Hi there and hope you all had a delightful Fourth of July weekend. It was kind of perfect and hot and very Fourth of July-ish. Now it’s a little cool and gray, but we’ll take what we can get. Things are really growing well out here. This week we harvested the first of our amazing green beans, as well as gorgeous cabbage heads. Every week it’s something new and wonderful and it just keeps getting better. There are weeds. And there are mosquitoes. LOTS of mosquitoes. But there are vegetables, and they just keep coming. If this keeps us, we have a wonderful, plentiful season ahead of us! In peach news, I have been in contact with the orchard and it looks like our first trip will be the first weekend of August - just like us, they’re affected by the weather, and they’re expecting things to really take off as August starts. And for those of you who have ordered various add-on shares, we are pulling together delivery dates for those and will be contacting you with information as to when you can start to look for things like fish, meat, and fruit. We are including a list of known or approximate dates in this newsletter as well. |
