So it would seem summer is really and truly upon us. A few hot days here and there are OK with us, though. It’s natural to have a little heat, a little rain, and a lot of sun. I hope you all enjoyed your Fourth of July – we managed to see 2 parades, multiple fire department water fights, and some splendid fireworks. First news – we are officially starting the Elgin West Harvest Market this Thursday. The market is located at the corner of Nesler Road and Route 20 in Elgin, in the parking lot of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, and runs from 4-8. Important announcement number 2 – this Saturday is a “Come and help farmer Trogg Saturday”. So for those of you who have been wanting to come out and help, now’s your chance, and boy can we use it. This will be at the Elgin Randall Road farm from 9-1 this Saturday the 13th. And now, PEACHES! Remember, we are taking a trip to Rendelman Orchards in Cobden, IL this weekend, so get ready. If you want to pre-order (which we recommend), the peaches and nectarines are $40 for a half-bushel box (24 lbs), and you can order by the peck (12 pounds), half-bushel, or bushel.
