Hello and Happy June to you all!

Summer’s just a few weeks away. It may be cool(ish) and rainy, but we don’t mind. It will be hot soon enough!

This week has been busy with planting and weeding. We have everything in now and are waiting for things to grow. Now that everything is in, the weeds are fighting for their place out there, and we’re fighting back by pulling those suckers out.

In other news, we’re expecting! (they actually arrived while I was posting this!) Yep, it’s true – we have guinea chicks on the way.

In market news, we started at the Elgin Harvest Market this week – thanks to everyone who came out to say hi. This market will continue every Thursday through October from 9-2. And remember to visit us in Huntley on Saturday.

We were also supposed to be starting at the Forest Park Farmers Market in a few weeks, but this market has been cancelled due to lack of vendors, which is a sad thing.

We also have CSA news – due to the weather, we are anticipating a 2 week delay on the start of the season. This means that as of right now we are planning to start shares on Thursday June 20.

And finally, as a reminder, we have set the date for our next farm event for June 29. We have confirmed we will have a handmade soap demo, which is very cool.
