I would insert a clever quip about rain here, but I don’t have one. What I will say is wow. That sure is a lot of rain. BUT, we are enjoying the second dry, sunny, warm day in a row. We are plowing and weeding and planting and harvesting. Before it rains again. I talk a lot about the weather, because we live by the weather. Literally everything we do is affected by it. So we talk about it. A LOT. And today it’s beautiful and we’re all thankful for that. Bi-weekly group B people, this week is the week. Get ready! We have a lot of greens again, because that’s what grows this time of year. Remember there’s a list - with pictures! - in the newsletter every week. And you can ask us about stuff too, because we’re nice. Next most important thing for me to discuss - this weekend’s Summer Solstice party!! Come out on Saturday afternoon for fun and farmy stuff and music and a pot luck (bring a dish - literally anything is fine - to share if you intend to stay). In market news, we’ll be in Rockford, Huntley, and Logan Square this weekend. This week we’ll have greens, and radishes, herbs, and flowers as well as grains from Hazzard Free Farm. If we have seedlings left we’ll bring those to Rockford and Huntley, but this is the last week for those so get them while you can! Elgin-area people,Farmer Trogg will be in town with greens, radishes and seedlings again this week. Come to 48 Crighton between 5-7 on Thursday. |
