Check out the calendar – not only is June in full-swing and summer almost here, but shares are starting NEXT WEEK!!! It’s been a cool, slow start, but things are really moving now.

We have a new partnership and add-on share to announce. We are working wit Scott and Katie at Early Bird Farm in Garden Prairie, Illinois (just a town over from here) to offer you delicious, local pork products. Their pigs are raised on a diet of corn and soybeans with no hormones.  They will be offering chops, ham, bacon, sausage, roasts, and brats for a monthly rate.

We had our first Elgin market last Thursday – it was a nice, if somewhat rainy, start and it was great to see everyone who stopped by. Come by again this Thursday from 9-2 and talk to us about a CSA share – and hurry, because time’s almost out!

And finally, and I know I’ve said it before, we’re planning the next farm event on Saturday, June 29 at 3PM. This will be Trogg’s Hollow’s Midsommer Festival (a week late, but we do our best), and will help us all to ring in the summer and a time of promise and growth.
