Hello friends! It’s been a while since I’ve been on newsletter duty, but things are getting pretty busy here on the farm and Farmer Trogg is needed for all of the mounting outside duties that come with better weather. So, it looks like I’m back for the season!

Well, first in news...this weekend was the first Trogg’s Hollow farm event of the year - our May Day Celebration. It was a gorgeous day (a little windy, but better than it could have been) and everyone enjoyed being able to gather outside again.

In other news, we said goodbye to our trusty van this week, and traded it in for a Suburban. It’s a big truck, and we need it for pulling trailers and hauling goats around. And Farmer Trogg has been out plowing the field with the BSC tractor, getting ready for planting, while our awesome crew has been planting onions and preparing potatoes for planting.

Now, into the future! This Saturday we’ll be at the Elgin Green Expo, which runs 9-4 at the Centre. Come see us, and learn about other green and sustainable opportunities.

Finally, YES!, we do still have shares available for 2014.  Please tell your friends and family, and anyone else.  We are about ⅔ of the way to our goal of 75 shares this year.  There is barely over a month until shares start so do not delay.  Remember we have pickups in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood, Arlington Heights, Berwyn, Forest Park, Roselle, Wheaton, Elgin, Huntley, Sycamore, Dekalb, Rockford and of course, the home farm in Poplar Grove.  We know you know someone around one of those places.  Please let them know about us
