5/4/16 Newsletter

posted May 4, 2016, 8:28 PM by Trogg's Hollow

Here it is!!! The First OFFICIAL newsletter of the 2016 season! I mean, I know you just got a newsletter like yesterday, but this one is the first one to talk about things like what’s in the share and all that good stuff. Yay!

Our first farm event of the year is coming up!!!! Mark your calendars for this Saturday, May 7, for our Beltane Celebration.

Starting at 5pm we’ll have vendors, music, a potluck, wagon rides, kids activities, and a bon fire (hopefully). This is the only event this year that we will have other local vendors/farmers/producers coming out, so get out here and check out our awesome friends - these will include some of your add-on share providers, so come and talk to them, ask questions, get answers!

As of right now, we’re looking forward to seeing the Illinois Stewardship Alliance, Sitka Salmon (fish), Tiny Tempest farm (seedlings), Wayne’s Honey (honey), Cedar Valley Sustainable Farm (meat), Monika’s Organic Bakery (bread), South Street Coffee (coffee), Shared Harvest Food Coop, Earth First Farms (strawberries and apples), and Stephen Day’s Soaps (soap).

Music will be provided by our friends from Moon Dragon, and the potluck will be available to (and provided by) all of us (and you)! Producers will be around from 5-7, but you should plan on hanging around all evening!!

Schedule of events:

  • 5-7pm - Producers tables open

  • 5-7pm - Face painting and kids activities

  • 5:30pm - Farm tour and Wagon ride

  • 6pm - Potluck Dinner - mmmmm 6-8pm - Moon Dragon performs
