Hi everyone! I’m sitting here looking at the cold crappy rainy day, trying to remind myself that it’s Spring and this is normal and it was hot just a couple of days ago. But seriously. Come on Spring. What’s the deal Mother Nature? The season is really starting to take off, cold weather or not. We had our very first market at Logan Square this past Sunday and it was great. We also spent some time this weekend at Lockwood Park in Rockford. Monkey Number 1 and I volunteered with the Winnebago-Boone Farm Bureau’s Ag in the Classroom to help educate kids and their families about chicks and dairy goats. In other market news, the Rockford City Market starts this Friday, May 22. It’s in the same spot right downtown as last year, but with a new pavilion and new hours - this year the market goes from 3:30-8:30PM on Fridays. Come see us! Buy your local produce! Have a beer! Then buy some more produce! On Saturday, we’ll be in Huntley for their first market, which runs from 8AM-1PM. This year the location has been changed to the Municipal Complex Parking Lot while the city completes some work in the Square, so make a note and come see us. Elgin-area people,Farmer Trogg will be in town with greens again this week. Come to 48 Crighton between 5-7 on Thursday to get your fix. |
