Hello all, and welcome to February!
It may not seem like Spring (well, because it’s not), but around here we’re starting to think in that general direction. Seeds have been ordered (and many received), compost has been ordered, and plans are being made for the start of seeding. Before you know it, Spring crops will be growing!
In the meantime, we’re also starting to show our faces at markets and other events again. This week we have two places to be...
There will be no pick up on Crighton Street this Thursday, but instead we’ll be participating in the Shared Harvest FED Talks at the Gail Borden Library in Elgin, from 7-8PM in Meadows Community Room A. FED Talks consists of three powerful 15 minute talks by local folks that will change your outlook on food, local food systems, and the sustainability and health of our food supply. We’ll be giving one 15 minute presentation, and we’ll also be there with potatoes, carrots, and eggs (we’ll be there until 8:15). So stop by for a good program, and leave with some delicious goodies.
