12/10/15 Newsletter

Hello all! Hope everyone is enjoying this balmy winter weather, though we all know this isn’t how winter weather is supposed to be. All we can do for now is enjoy it, right? And maybe stop polluting and disrespecting the planet, but I’m preaching to the choir on this one.

First things first - this is the final week for Winter Shares. We had thought we would go one more but growing has slowed down, mostly due to the lack of daylight, and we just won’t have enough for another week. Thanks to everyone who bought winter shares, and remember to come get yours this week. Oh, and a note about your shares - this week you have jam, made by yours truly. Think of this as a sample of the kinds of extras you might be getting in a sustainable share next year, especially in the off season. There’s more goodness where that came from!

In addition, we will not be at the Logan Square Market this weekend - or for a while. We’ll be back there in the Spring, so all of you have a Happy Holidays/New Year and we’ll let you know when we’re back! We will, however, be at the Elgin Share Harvest Winter Cooperative Market this Monday. This market runs from 4-8:30 PM at the American Legion, 820 North Liberty Street, Elgin. We’ll have a very limited amount of greens - mustard and kale, as well as grains, carrots, and onions. Also you will be able to get information on and sign up for our 2016 shares. Come visit!
