This Week at Trogg's Hollow Well, I just got in from packing this week shares and they taste great. Yeah, I snack while I'm picking and packing. The turnip greens are especially good. This freezing weather we've had has really sweetened up everything. But it's also brought us to the end of the lettuces and mesclun mix. The beets are also done for the year. I picked the last of them today. We should have a week or two of kale, turnips, carrots, broccoli and cabbage, however. I also want to remind everyone that signup for our 2012 CSA program is going on. It's been just over a week and we've filled about a third of the number of shares that were our goal. As a reminder, we have early-bird pricing up until the 1st of December that is the same as 2011 pricing. Finally, this Saturday, the 25th, the day after Black Friday, is Small Business Saturday. We are going to be selling our crops as well as signing up shareholders at the Winter Market in Elgin. We'll be there from 8am until 2pm. There are other great local small businesses there as well. Please come by and support your local small businesses. More in the newsletter and Happy Thanksgiving. |
