Wow, it's the second week of November and the temps Monday night were like late December. We went from nearly shorts and t-shirts on the farm Sunday to bundling up Monday night and picking everything we could to make sure the very deep, hard freeze didn't get it. I remember last year I was still picking broccoli, albeit in sleet, the day before Thanksgiving with no fear of 20 degree weather. What a difference a year makes. Okay, so we have some news for the next week. First, we will be at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Elgin for their 6th annual Fall Harvest Market. Secondly, we want everyone to know that we have at least 4 extra bins available for fall shares. Third, next weeks fall shares will be available Tuesday evening after 5pm or Wednesday between 10am and 5pm. Finally, we have 2 special Thanksgiving baskets available. It would include a locally, humanely and pasture raised turkey from Naturally Naked Foods in Sugar Grove, IL, Brussels sprouts, carrots, onions, cauliflower, broccoli, and turnips.
