11/12/13 Newsletter

Hi Everyone and Happy 11-12-13!

Sorry we’re a day late on this newsletter. I hurt my foot last night and Trogg was busy taking care of me!

So it totally snowed yesterday. And wow is it cold out there! Really really cold. This bitter cold will only last the next couple of days, but it’s just a taste of what we know is to come.

Farmer Trogg and I spent several hours yesterday putting plastic over the low tunnels to make sure all the growing things keep growing.

Thanks to all of you who came out to see us at the UUCE Harvest Market in Elgin this past Sunday. It was nice to see everyone, especially since I don’t get to the markets as often.

Winter share holders, remember we drop off shares in Elgin from 4:30 to 6:30 on Wednesdays and in Huntley from 4:30 to 6:30 on Thursdays.

We do have two extra shares this week, for anyone interested. You can check out the list in this newsletter to see what they include.

And remember sign up for next year’s shares! This year’s prices are only good until Thanksgiving, so you only have a couple of weeks to get in on that sweet sweet deal. It’s getting cold out now, but think about all the beans, peas, squash, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, eggplants, potatoes, greens, radishes, turnips, and herbs (I swear, it’s sunshine in a box) you’ll be missing out on if you don’t sign up for a 2014 summer share. Plus, like ¾ of your summer meals are taken care of.

More in the Newsletter.
