10/30/13 Newsletter

posted Oct 30, 2013, 2:11 PM by Trogg's Hollow   [ updated Oct 30, 2013, 2:11 PM ]
Farmer Trogg here.  So this week is the first week in 20 that has no shares.  Just like before summer shares started we’ve been working in the field.  The temps are back up and Halloween is tomorrow, so I hope everyone gets out to enjoy things.

This last week we did a mini market at Advocate Sherman Hospital for Food Day.  What a great turnout!  So many folks there looking for safe local food and we are thrilled to be able to help.  We’ll be working with Sherman to try to get a CSA drop at the hospital.

Last week wasn’t just the last of the summer shares, it was also the last week that Dan and Sarah were on the farm full time. Good luck to both of them and thanks for a great year.

And then just yesterday, Sarah and I put in Garlic for next year.  It has to be planted and mulched now for harvest next summer.

Come on out and see us at the Indoor Huntley Farmers Market this Saturday from 8am to 1pm.

Also, you will all be getting added to our Trogg’s Hollow News Google group.  Due to the email issues this year (Google thinks we’re spamming everyone), we are migrating to using this group function to communicate with everyone.  We’ll be slowly moving all communication to this over the next couple of months.

More in the Newsletter

PS - only 4 weeks left to pay 2013 prices for 2014 shares.
