We have been BUSY since last week’s newsletter. Halloween is creeping closer and closer, and we’ve had a few freezing nights. In the span of a week we’ve been in the high 70s, dipped down into the 20s, and now we’re back up there again. The wonder of October! Last Friday we spent the day with our Roots & Shoots friends covering 11 beds to protect them from the freeze. Plus, we harvested anything and everything left in the field. Just in time too, because by Saturday morning, all the summer crops were dead. It’s amazing how quickly it comes on. No matter how used to it we get, it’s still a bit of a shocker. But the beds, with their still-sensitive Fall crops, are covered under fabric and plastic and will stay snug and keep growing until the real deep cold settles in.

This week we will be delivering a BONUS SHARE!! Yay!!!! So plan on stopping by your normal pick up site to pick up your food. Half-share holders, it doesn’t matter if you’re an A or B weeker - we’ll be providing you with a share. Everyone gets one bag (no bins, since it’s the final week). Yay!!!!
