10/16/14 Newsletter

Well here we are. This is it - the last week of Summer 2014 shares. I hope everyone has enjoyed everything, and we REALLY appreciate all the support. It has been a challenging summer in many ways, but next year will present it’s own new challenges, so we meet them and deal with them and move on.

That said, we will not be able to offer an extra share this year. The frost(s) that came through last weekend has/have pretty much killed off the extra things that would have been included. So this really is the last week - until next year, of course (or, you know, winter shares).

Our friends and neighbors, a lovely family across the street from us, are offering lamb for sale! They have a limited number of grass fed lambs - no medications of any kind and raised by the moms - available for purchase. You can buy a whole or half lamb - the price is $2.25/lb (live weight - average is 100 lbs) plus processing (approximately $70) and they require a $50 deposit. The lambs are being sent in on October 28, so we will need to know as soon as possible. If you’re interested, send us an email and let us know, and we’ll go from there. And did I mention they live right across the street? I can vouch for the happy lives of those lambs.
